For older preschoolers you might like to take a look at the Power Wheel brand. These toys are motorized and have a top speed of 5mph, and can cause serious injury if not used to the speed and don’t understand the basics of the machine eg like how to use the brake pedal.
You might have to replace the battery for your ride on well power wheels have got your covered. The replacement batter is for use with the following Power Wheels® vehicles: Type H 6-volt; Type H or Type A for Super 6-volt; and 12-volt vehicles (Preschool & Advanced Series only). Thermal fuse included; also comes with an instruction booklet containing important safety information. Please note: Advanced Series vehicles require two batteries. IMPORTANT: When replacing batteries, always replace both batteries (a new battery can be severely damaged if used with an old one).
The 12-volt battery has been designed to fulfill rigorous Power Wheels requirements in order to provide the best possible performance durability and maximum play time for Power Wheels vehicles. Here is what customers had to say about there purchase
Our 3 year old loves his jeep
We bought this jeep for our youngest boy when he was 2 years 9 months. He’s now 3 years and 2 months and has driven the jeep numerous times. Plenty of power for the driveway and sidewalks. We had a neighborhood party and he took all of his “girlfriends” for rides with no problem. It goes through the yard okay, but struggles in wet grass with the plastic wheels. Battery runs for a good amount of time. We charge it after it is obviously run down which seems to take 3-4 rides of 20-30 min each. Highly recommend if your kid is somewhat coordinated.
Not really up to age 7, but still a good deal
I bought this for my nieces and nephew for Christmas, and they love it! The only problem is that it says it will fit up to age 7, and my oldest niece is 5 and barely fits in it. Yes, she’s tall for her age, but I was hoping for a little longer use for her. My nephew loves it, and I’m happy that it has a larger battery life/power
